Mountwest Community & Technical College will welcome Harry Faulk as the new Vice President for Academic Affairs.

In this position, Faulk will provide leadership for every aspect of academic administration and programming, according to a news release from the school, including the assessment of student learning outcomes, academic program review, curriculum development, academic budgeting, course scheduling, faculty evaluation and development and also academic staffing.

Faulk also will serve as Mountwest's accreditation liaison officer with the North Central Association's Higher Learning Commission.

Faulk is a western Pennsylvania native. He served as Associate Provost and professor of music at Fairmont State College. He moved to Pittsburgh in 2004 to serve as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty at Point Park University. He returned to West Virginia in 2006 and was Executive Vice President and Chief Academic Officer at New River Community and Technical College.

Faulk earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in music from the University of Rochester's Eastman School of Music. He received a doctor of arts degree in music from Carnegie Mellon University and completed post-doctoral work in higher education administration at West Virginia University.
