WV Truck drivers heading to National Driving Championship

West Virginia will have a heavy representative this week during the National Truck Driving Championship.

Nine professional truck drivers from West Virginia will compete in the American Trucking Associations' National Truck Driving Championship, also known as the Super Bowl of Safety. The event will take place from Aug. 20-24 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

"West Virginia – home to some of the safest, most professional truck drivers in America – is always well represented at this industry-revered event," West Virginia Trucking Association President Jan Vineysard said in a news release.

The drivers include: Charles Randolph of Belle, Kevin Asbury of Point Pleasant, Travis Gibson of Scott Depot, Nickolas Backes of Fraziers Bottom, John Gibson of Scott Depot, Paul Norman of Charleston, Joe Boyles of Grafton and James Priddy Jr. of Charleston.
