Lewis County Commission Changes Courthouse Hours

Posted: Updated:

The Lewis County Commission is making another change at the courthouse.

The commission will move the courthouse hours back half an hour.

County offices will now be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The change in hours comes as new circuit Judge Kurt Hall takes office in the county's new annex.

Commission President Pat Boyle said the change will make life easier for everyone involved.

"He's made the suggestion, since we're all on the campus together now, all the offices will be together, that we operate on the same hours. It'll make things a lot easier from the judicial side of things as well as the courthouse side of things," Boyle said.

The new hours will take effect when the new annex opens for business on September 3.

The commission also approved a $1,000 grant for the Lewis County Community Educational Outreach Service.

Money from the grant will help fund the CEOS's annual Breast Cancer Awareness Event.

Boyle said the event draws more than a hundred people each year, and is a great opportunity to learn more about the disease.

Boyle said many men come to the event to learn about the disease, which he said is especially important since it does affect both men and women.

The Lewis County Commission will hold a ribbon cutting for its new judicial annex Tuesday.
