Clarksburg City Council met Thursday night to discuss ‘The Robinson Grand Theater', also known as the ‘Rose Garden Theater', that the city plans to acquire.

Monongalia County officials said rumors that the minor league baseball team coming to Morgantown had pulled out are not true.

The county commission received an update on the new baseball park today during its weekly meeting.

The project is expected to take 10-12 months to complete once ground is broken. The county hopes to have it open early in 2015.

"We're real excited. In two and a half years we're going to have a first class facility for not only a small minor league team, but for WVU, Fairmont State and the citizens of Monongalia County," said Tom Bloom, of Monongalia County.

In June, Designstream LLC in Pittsburgh provided West Virginia University with some renderings of the proposed baseball stadium in Morgantown.

It's proposed that WVU will pay between $2.3 and $2.7 million to obtain the land.

Once the bond funding the project is paid back, WVU will obtain ownership of the park, but a usage agreement will keep it open to the public.
