Clarksburg Man Indicted for Embezzling from VA Medical Center

A federal grand jury in Elkins has indicted a Clarksburg man for embezzling more than $20,000 from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Clarksburg, according to court records.

Michael J. White was indicted for wrongfully obtaining mileage reimbursement for allegedly traveling from a house in Alma, Tyler County, when he was actually driving from his residence in Clarksburg between September 23, 2008 and June 28, 2013. Court records indicate White obtained $23,795.29 in mileage reimbursement.

White was indicted on one count of stealing public money and three counts of making a material false statement
