The Morgantown Police Department arrested a man on drug charges Thursday.
Michael Thomas Shamy, Jr., 20, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession with the intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance.
Morgantown police officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance on Wiles Street shortly after midnight on Thursday. After officers were able to separate the parties involved, they found various items used for packaging and consuming marijuana as well as a jar of marijuana in plain sight, according to a news release form the police department.
A search warrant was then obtained by police and during the search, officers recovered 132 gelatin capsules that contained suspected MDMA (Ecstasy), a quart-sized mason jar with two baggies of marijuana, $1,900 in cash, as well as a variety packaging materials.
Shamy is awaiting arraignment, according to the police department.
