    The militant group ISIS has beheaded four Western hostages, two from the United States and two from Britain. Monday night, WVU's Muslim Association held a vigil for one of the murdered American journalist.

Five counties have joined to form the Mountain Music Trail.

Monroe, Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Randolph and Tucker counties are promoting tourism and economic development through traditional music and dance. 

The Mountain Music Trail will feature five major events from August 31 through November 3.

On August 31 starting at 7:30 p.m., the Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys will be at the Pocahontas Opera House in Marlinton. Admission is $8.

On September 6 at 8:30 p.m., the Hillbilly Gypsies will perform at The Purple Fiddle Café in Thomas. Admission is $12.

An Old-time traditional square dance will be held September 19 at Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg. It will start at 7 p.m. and admission is $5.

-On October 19 at 2 p.m., Little Sparrow, Festival in the Hills will be held at Salt Sulphur Springs Resort in Union. Festival admission applies.

Finally, from November 1 through November 3 the 20th Annual Fiddlers Reunion will be held at the Augusta Heritage Center in Elkins.
