A short, low-speed police pursuit happened Monday in Fairmont.  The pursuit started at 12:55 p.m.

Police were pursuing a gray 2013 Hyundai Sonata with plates matching those from a car that left the scene of a shots fired complaint on Howard Avenue near the City of Fairmont Waste Water Treatment Plant, according to news release from the Fairmont Police Department.

The shots fired complaint happened August 30 at 7:26 p.m., according to the news release.

Witnesses told police a gray vehicle with West Virginia registration was in the area shortly before shots were heard and was seen leaving the area once the shots stopped.  Witnesses reported seeing three males inside the car.  Police also recovered shell casings in the street.

Police stopped the car on Hillside Drive and detained one man and two boys after finding two firearms inside.

Those people have not been identified.

Police have contacted the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, and charges are pending, according to the news release.
