GRANVILLE -

Labor Day is a holiday to show working families around the United States that they are appreciated. Some people, like emergency responders, aren't able to have the day off. Olive Garden wanted to show a few that they are still being thought of.

Workers from the Olive Garden in Granville packed up bags of food for the Morgantown and Granville Police Departments. The departments were able to enjoy a free, hand delivered lunch even though they had to report to duty on the holiday.

"I think the great gesture for the community and they've done it before," said Mike Campbell, a Detective and Patrolman for the Granville Police Department. "They do it around the holidays, they bring the food and stuff like that. I think its a good thing."

The Olive Garden Labor Day Lunch, is part of it's "Hospitaliano Visits." They are visits that serve the community where the restaurant is located.

"Through the year they serve for us all the year around and what we do, is dealing with them," said Ricardo Soler, a Manager at Olive Garden. "So we just want to tell them thank you for all their services. So that's why we picked them."

Granville Police Department responds to anything that might happen at the Olive Garden at University Towne Center. But they also help out, even if there isn't an emergency.

"On the holidays we have a detail where we go up there. And we stand when the people come in and clean the restaurants. We work details," said Campbell. "We do for them, so I guess they appreciate that so they give back to us and the community."

Local emergency responders weren't the only ones that benefited from Olive Garden. They did it across the United States.
