The Marion County Sheriff's Department has arrested a Morgantown man and charged him with malicious wounding after deputies said he beat a 91-year-old woman and choked her with a medical-alert necklace that she used to call 911.
Deputies charged Sean Michael McDaniel, 32, of Morgantown, after he told a Fairmont woman that he was going to kill her, slammed her face off of the side of a house, and threw her onto a porch swing, according to a criminal complaint. McDaniel continue to hit, kick, and choke the woman, said deputies.
Deputies said the woman was bleeding and had a rope burn where McDaniel tried to choke her with the medical-alert necklace.
McDaniel is free on $50,000 bond, according to Marion County Magistrate Court.
