The Central Appalachia Development Organization has received a grant from Governor Earl Ray Tomblin.

The $70,000 Appalachian Regional Commission Grant will support a revolving loan fund for Barbour, Braxton, Gilmer, Lewis, and Randolph counties.

CADO will provide financing to recent graduates wanting to start a business.

"That's what we would like to focus on, we want to keep the young people here. Let's stop the brain drain. And for those creative people who would like to start up their own business find a way to incent them to stay here and do it in West Virginia," said Stephen Foster, Upshur County Development Authority.

CADO is a non-profit organization that operates under the Region VII Planning and Development Council. It was formed to compliment the region's services by providing other resources for local businesses to access for sustainability and growth.

A total of $100,000 will be available for the loan fund, with $70,000 coming from ARC and $30,000 being matched by Region VII Planning and Development Council.
