On Thursday, a local law firm is celebrating 100 years of service to the community of Clarksburg.

McNeer, Highland, McMunn and Varner hosted an open house Thursday evening.

Clarksburg Mayor Cathy Goings presented the firm with a key to the city and the rest of council showed its appreciation for its service to the city.

The law firm has gone through several mergers in previous years including: Robinson, Stump, Highland and Morgan, and McNeer, Highland and McMunn, and since has became McNeer, Highland, McMunn and Varner in late 1995.

Jim Robinson founded what is now McNeer, Highland, McMunn and Varner back in 1913.

"We are celebrating this firm in some form or another has been around for over 100 years, or I should say 100 years, and it's a time to celebrate because there aren't many businesses that can stay in business that long," said shareholder Debra Varner.

McNeer, Highland, McMunn and Varner law firm has expanded its services over the years to meet the demands of their clients and are able to service their clients in and throughout the State of West Virginia, as well as Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Ohio.

The Clarksburg office continues to be the firm's central location. The firm has other offices in Martinsburg, Parkersburg, Kingwood and Elkins West Virginia.
