The Weston Police Department has arrested a man on a sexual assault charge.
Police charged John Paul Lunsford, 30 of Weston, with second degree sexual assault after he entered a woman's apartment through her bathroom window and pushed her down while yelling at her, according to a criminal complaint. The victim attempted to call 911 when Lunsford grabbed the phone and threw it against the wall, according to the criminal complaint.
The victim told police she was able to get away from Lunsford and enter a different room where she fell asleep. The following morning, Lunsford entered the room and began yelling at the woman, slapping her and eventually flipping a mattress on top of her before sexual assaulting her, said the criminal complaint.
Lunsford is being held in Central Regional Jail with bail set at $100,000.
