A major collision was narrowly avoided on when a truck swerved to avoid a stopped school bus.

Students from Crichton Elementary were getting on the bus when a truck crosses a double yellow line near Leslie Bottom Road on Thursday. It happened at around 7:30 a.m.  The truck was speeding towards the bus when it veered off the road and hit a power pole.  The accident caused several power lines to break, but no one was seriously hurt.

"I was coming to work that morning and I saw traffic backed up and everything," said Linda Davis, a resident of Leslie. "I thought it had to be an accident. Well first I thought it was a bus stop, but it was a pole. Someone hit a pole and the truck was over on its top. It sort of went sailing through the air or whatever, and then flipped over on its top."
