UNIONTOWN, PA -

Authorities said a West Virginia man is dead and a woman is in custody after a standoff in western Pennsylvania on Friday.

The Associated Press said it happened around noon, when an occupant of a pickup opened a window, and allegedly fired on a police car that was in pursuit.

The truck then crashed into a home near Uniontown, Pa.

Donald Ray Brown, 53, of Buckhannon barricaded himself inside.

After a 10-hour standoff,  police entered the home and found Brown was dead, apparently from a self-inflicted wound.

Jessica Lynn Phillips, 28, also of Buckhannon and Brown's alleged accomplice,  has been charged with aggravated assault, attempted homicide, and other charges.

She is in the Fayette County jail unable to post a $1 million bond.
