More than 2,800 trucks and heavy equipment items were sold for over 300 sellers at the Company's permanent auction site
MOERDIJK, The Netherlands, Sept. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (NYSE and TSX: RBA), the world's largest industrial auctioneer, sold more than €30 million (US$41+ million) of trucks and heavy equipment items during a two-day unreserved public auction at its auction site in Moerdijk, The Netherlands on September 26 & 27, 2013. The unreserved auction featured a range of items used in the construction, mining, transportation and other industries, including 280+ boom and scissor lifts, 210+ compactors, 200+ excavators, 160+ van trucks, 80+ forklifts, 80+ loaders, 60+ truck tractors, 50 trailers, 50+ dump trucks, 20 pipelayers, 20 cranes, 14 concrete pump trucks, eight crawler drills and many more items.
At the two-day auction, all items were sold unreserved to the highest bidders, regardless of price. Bids were made in person at the Moerdijk auction site, live and online at www.rbauction.com or by proxy. Close to 1,480 bidders from more than 75 countries registered to participate at the two-day unreserved public auction. More than 800 bidders participated online and purchased €8+ million (US$11+ million) of equipment online.

"We've seen a vibrant bidding atmosphere where selling prices in general were strong, particularly with specialized transport trucks and trailers, mobile cranes and construction equipment. First auction in Finland
On September 25, the day before the Moerdijk auction, Ritchie Bros. held its first ever auction in Finland, selling 350 equipment items and trucks to more than 660 bidders. Buyers at the Moerdijk auction site were also able to participate in the Finland auction through a live broadcast connection.
