Dawrence Roberts (Fairmont State), Josh Clark (Concord), Andy Ellington (Concord) and Puma Nuredini (Charleston) have been selected as the Mountain East Conference Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Roberts earned honors on the offensive side of the ball, Clark got the nod on defense, and Ellington and Nuredini shared special teams honors.
Roberts, a 5-11 senior from Dunedin, Fla., needed only 14 carries to amass 175 yards on the ground to lead Fairmont State to a 56-3 win over West Virginia State on Saturday. Roberts averaged 12.5 yards per carry and scored twice for the Falcons.
West Virginia Wesleyan's Jade Smith has been named Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week, and Notre Dame College's Kristy Kolschetzky has earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league announced today.
Smith, a senior midfielder from Hurricane, W.Va., led the Bobcats to two victories on the week. Smith scored the first goal for WVWC in a 3-0 win over Shepherd, and then scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick in a 1-0 win over Urbana.
