Randolph County Discusses E911 Mapping Data Sharing with City of Elkins

Posted: Updated:

Randolph County Commission discussed sharing E911 mapping data with the City of Elkins Thursday.

The city wants to incorporate city street information into the county's program.

Jim Wise, 911 Director, said it will keep the city from starting at the very beginning.

"It will save them money, it will save them time. They'll be able to use and incorporate what we already have on file, and they can go ahead and use that. That's what their going to go ahead and take action on to approve that," Wise said.

Wise said it's unclear when the city will start using the data.
