The Morgantown Police Department responded to the scene of an armed robbery Thursday night in Morgantown.

Police said it happened at the BP gas station at 432 Beechurst Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

According to a press release sent by the Morgantown Police Department, the clerk said a white man and a black man entered the store, and the black man pulled out a handgun. He told the clerk to give him all the money in the register.

Once the clerk handed over the money, both subjects fled the store on foot, according to police.

The press release said both men were dressed in dark, baggy clothing and had some type of clothing covering their faces so that only their eyes could be seen.

The gas station and the Subway restaurant attached to it were closed for a short time while officers were investigating.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Morgantown Police Department at (304) 284-7522.
