The trial for two people charged with murder out of Wayne County, WV will move to the grand jury.
Erica Dawn Streets and Daniel Kilpatrick are facing charges in connection to the murder of Julius Davis, a Wayne County man reported missing since July.
From the outside, the home at 2940 Little Lynn Creak Road appears to be normal but what was found buried in the woods behind the house led to a murder investigation. West Virginia State Police discovered the body believed to be that of Julius Davis, a Wayne County man reported missing since July.
Neighbors described Davis as a quiet, nice guy. Neighbors did not want to be identified by name.
After hundreds of tips, troopers arrested Erica Streets and charged her with first degree murder. They say she killed Davis and buried his body with the help of Wayne Kilpatrick
"They both confessed. From that point on, we moved forward and became cooperative and led us to a grave site," said Sgt. E.A. Blankenship of the West Virginia State Police.
Davis' body was found 300 yards away from his front steps in a make-shift grave. Investigators say the body appears to have been there since about July, when he was first reported missing.
"For him to be missing for that long and nobody know where he was at was, is very suspicious, very wrong," said a neighbor.
Davis and Streets had been in a relationship and were living together during the time he went missing. They had two children together, 5 and 7-year-old boys.
"He was a hard working man and all he wanted was a good, clean, straight life for his children," said a neighbor.
Police say the children are now in custody of the state.
"I feel very sorry for their children and what they have to go through for the rest of their lives," said a neighbor.
Investigators have not released a motive for the murder. Troopers say the case is still under investigation.
West Virginia State Police say Erica Streets and Daniel Wayne Kilpatrick were brought in for questioning on Friday October 4, 2013. The pair were interrogated by police and confessed to the murder of Julius Davis, 51 of East Lynn, WV. The pair was subsequently arrested and charged.
Streets and Davis had 2 children together. Both are now in state custody at this time.
Police say they have sent the body found buried on Kilpatrick's property to the Kanawha County Medical Examiner's Office. They are awaiting final confirmation that it is the body of murder victim Julius Davis.
A motive for the murder has not been determined at this time.
The investigation is continuing.

Police have found a body in Wayne County, WV, and have arrested two people for murder.
According to the West Virginia State Police, the body believed to be that of Julius Davis, 51, of East Lynn in Wayne County, was found sometime Friday night into Saturday morning on his property.
According to police, Erica Dawn Streets, 31 of Wayne, was arrested and is being charged with first degree murder of Davis, who had previously been reported as missing for a few months.
According to police, it is believed Streets killed Davis, and with the assistance of Daniel Wayne Kilpatrick, 51, of East Lynn, WV, buried Davis' body on his property.
Kilpatrick is being charged with being an accessory after the fact to first degree murder.
Both Streets and Kilpatrick are being held in the Western Regional Jail.
Streets' bond has not been set, however, Kilpatrick's bond is set at $50,000.
According to the West Virginia State Police, troopers have been on the scene of where the body was found since early Saturday morning, and will remain on guard there until the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner shows up to recover any of the body's remains.
This case is being handled by the West Virginia State Police.
