West Virginia State Police have arrested a Weston man on a child abuse charge.
State police received information that a child abuse victim was in custody at the Department of Health and Human Resources office. The victim told Trooper J.C. Johnson that Timothy Wayne Jerrell, 33, hit him with the buckle end of a belt while he was laying on his back on his bed. The victim received bruises on his chest and stomach from the belt, according to the criminal complaint.
Jerrell told state police that he hit the victim with the belt that he was wearing, the complaint said.
Jerrell was arraigned by Magistrate Roger Clem Jr. and is being held in Central Regional Jail with bail set at $100,000.
