'Ride for Colton' Brings Toys and Blankets to Children at UHC

The 1376 Moose Riders of Weston and the Hogs and Heroes Foundation traveled to Bridgeport on Saturday to deliver toys and blankets to children at United Hospital Center.

Over 40 riders delivered toys on the backs of their motorcycles for the third annual Ride for Colton.

Colton Dean was diagnosed with bone cancer in December of 2009.

Dean had a Make-A-Wish Foundation wish that all the children at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh would get snuggies and toys.

Donald House heard about Colton and wanted to help.

"I challenged the Make-A-Wish Foundation of West Virginia if they would please give him another wish if we completed it first. They agreed, but unfortunately he passed away before we could complete that. This year we delivered snuggies and teddy bears in his honor," said House.

This was the third year that the Hogs and Heroes Foundation delivered toys and blankets to a hospital.

It plans to deliver to a different hospital next year.

Lori Dean, Colton's mother, said Colton received toys when he was in the hospital.

"In Pittsburgh they are awesome about people donating things to them and making blankets and pillows and things like that. I think that's kind of what got to Colton. He saw that and he just thought that was awesome and that's what he wanted," Dean said.
