Bridgeport police have released the name of the man involved in Monday's tractor trailer accident on Interstate 79.
The truck's driver, Richard Gorman of Oil City, Pennsylvania, is in stable condition at United Hospital Center, according to police.
Bridgeport Volunteers in Police Service were also on scene, as well as W.Va. Division Of Highway officials, who assisted with traffic control.
The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating a tractor trailer accident on Interstate 79 southbound near the 121 mile marker that happened around 4:30 p.m. Monday.
A tractor trailer traveling southbound on I-79 went over the bridge from the interstate onto Johnson Avenue, according to Bridgeport police.
The driver was removed from the truck and transported to United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
Bridgeport police said he suffered non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition at UHC.
Johnson Avenue was blocked for several hours while crews clear the scene. One lane of I-79 southbound was also closed while the scene was cleared. It has since reopened
The Harrison County Sheriff's Department also responded to the scene.
