Katie joined the WBOY team in October of 2013 as an Anchor/Reporter. She graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelors of Science in Journalism with a specialization in creative writing.

While at Ohio University, Katie was a reporter, then an anchor for the entertainment news show, "Straight Up". She also worked at OU's WOUB as a reporter.

Katie interned at WFMJ in Youngstown, Ohio in 2011, and was hired as a multimedia producer there in 2013. She was also an intern at WBNS in Columbus, Ohio.

In September of 2012 she moved to New York City to work a semester-long internship with Fox News Channel. There, she worked with network news anchors, reporters, and producers.

Katie has always loved news, watching local and network news stations since she was young.

Katie grew up in McDonald, a small town in Ohio. She is thrilled to call Bridgeport her home and looks forward to getting to know the area.

When Katie isn't at the station, she is reading, writing, spending time with her friends and family, or walking her dog, Bailey.

Please feel free to email Katie with any questions or story ideas.

It didn't spill over and it seemed very sturdy. The one thing I did notice...

For this week's Test it Tuesday segment, I tried out the Cafe Cup.The Cafe Cups are refillable, reusable, filters that can replace the regular K-cups for a single-cup coffee brewer.Claiming to be more customizable and affordable, I decided to put it to the test. The Cafe Cup worked really well over all.I tested coffee, tea, loose leaf tea and hot chocolate in the Cafe Cups. The coffee, and neither tea leaked out at all, there were no extra grounds or leaves in the cup. But, I did fill the coffee...
