The city of Buckhannon just might be the "Coolest Small Town."

Budget Travel Magazine is looking for the top 10 communities in the U.S. with populations of less than $10,000, and an indescribable feature.

Seven small towns in the state are in the running, and Buckhannon has 243 nominations.

"This is an annual contest so every year we hope to be a part of this contest until we can finally win the contest. Last year we were involved we had a lot of great votes from locals and from people who used to live here. We hope people will remember that and get excited about it this year, and keep voting," said Laura Meadows, of the Upshur County CVB.

Weston and Jane Lew have also been nominated. Budget Travel will post 15 finalists in January.
