On Wednesday, the Morgantown Board of Zoning Appeals met in Morgantown to discuss construction of new the Sheetz on University Avenue.

During the meeting, Sheetz representatives said that they're getting an approval of a single-floor two-story structure that will be built where Premier Chevrolet was located on University Avenue.

"Our typical sheetz stores we would like to have at least 50 parking stalls and we've actually got this small site worked out where we do have 41 proposed," said Sheetz Real Estate Project Manager Michael Hensley.

Hensley also said they plan to speak with the zoning board regarding parking variances.

"The city has really worked well with us. We actually have some of our parking on different level than the main entrance to our store that would be used mostly for employee parking and customers that are not pulling into our lot to get gas but are coming into the store," Hensley said.

Sheetz hopes to start construction as early as spring 2014.
