Dozens of vendors have lined up in Fairmont's Middletown Mall dressed in costume holding endless bags candy for the past 40 years.

This year is no different. The Halloween Parade of Marion County is a safe and fun way to trick-or-treat.

More than 1,000 kids participate in the event every year. The mall provides each child with a Halloween bag and vendors will fill the bags with candy as the children show off their costumes.

"It's a safe environment and it's controlled. the kids really have a good time. we know everything is safe. the candy is safe. everybody just loves doing it. Everybody loved Halloween," said Betty Schmidt, Middletown Mall Marketing Manager.

The parade will take place October 28 at 6 p.m., starting by Mi Pueblo's Mexican Restaurant.

Vendors and donations are still needed for the event. If you would like to help, you can contact Betty Schmidt at 304-363-3230.
