Leadership WV Hosts 'Moving WV Forward Conference' in Morgantown

Posted: Updated:

Leadership West Virginia hosted the Moving West Virginia Forward Conference at the Waterfront Place Hotel Thursday, October 17th and Friday, October 18th.

The statewide leadership conference is an annual development program. This year's conference concentrates on the Affordable Care Act and how it will affect West Virginians.

"The overall theme for our conference is really to tone down the politics of the discussion for ObamaCare or healthcare reform and really focus on its actual impact," Beth Walker, the Leadership West Virginia Conference Chair. "And have a real discussion that is not politicized or emotional but really for practical people to receive information."

A keynote presentation will be given by Ronald S. Leopold, M.D. on Friday at 8:30 a.m., followed by Affordable Care Act panels all day. There will also be panels on how the act will affect employers, employees, and residents in West Virginia.

Leadership West Virginia also strives to keep young residents in West Virginia.

The leadership conference is open to the public. The conference is happening all day Friday, October 18th at the Waterfront Place Hotel in Morgantown and will close out with a Distinguished Alumni Award presentation starting at 12:15 p.m.

Reservations for the event can be made by calling the hotel at (304) 296-1700.
