Foodland offers Thanksgiving turkeys in new rewards program

Posted: Updated:

Foodland entered the rewards card marketing system this past summer, and now it's offering shoppers a free turkey in return.

During the five-week earning period that began Oct. 13 and ends Nov. 16, shoppers who use their Foodland Rewards card and spend at least $350 will be eligible to earn up to a 14-pound Grade A frozen turkey courtesy of Foodland. When customers spend $499, they're eligible to take home up to a 22-pound Grade A Tom turkey (with the exception of Butterball and limited to one per family).

Customers will be able to redeem their Foodland rewards, after receiving an email notifying them of their qualification, toward a free turkey beginning November 17 and continuing through Thanksgiving.

"Our Foodland shoppers are residents in our local neighborhoods and folks we've built relationships with over the years," said Jim Oppe, a Foodland owner. "We've all felt the impact of the economy in recent months, so it's important for us to give back during the holidays to help lessen the extra financial stress this time of year."
