Clarksburg City Council approved a second reading of the ordinance to acquire the Rose Garden Theater, Thursday night.
Clarksburg City Council met Thursday night to discuss ‘The Robinson Grand Theater', also known as the ‘Rose Garden Theater', that the city plans to acquire.

The FBI Citizens Academy is teaming up with Washington Irving Prevention Resource officers to educate teachers, parents and students.

On Monday night, the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association as well as Prevention Resource officers discussed the problem of bullying both online and within schools. Every school in Harrison County with a Prevention Resource officer has an anti-bullying program called ‘We Take A Stand.'

"Talk to your children. Talk to your children about bullying; let them know that if you would want someone doing it to you don't do it to them. It's just the golden rule," said Resource Prevention Officer Josh Skiviat.

Skiviat also said the program empowers students to stand up for each other and to stand up to bullying.

The FBI Citizens Academy is working with ‘We Take A Stand' and all schools from Pre-K through 12th grade. The academy offers online programs called ‘Wired Safety' for teachers, students and parents as resources about bullying.

‘Wired Safety' said that, "cyber bulling is any cyber-communication or publication posted or sent by a minor online, by instant message, email, website, diary site, online profile, interactive game, handheld device, cell phone, game device, digital camera or video, webcam or use of any interactive device that is intended to frighten, embarrass, harass, set up, cause harm to extort or otherwise target a minor."
