The Randolph County Sheriff's Department is investigating an accident, that spawned two other accidents, one involving a fire truck.

It happened in the Valley Head area just after 1 p.m. Monday.

Sheriff Mark Brady said the fire truck driven by Robert Tacy of Huttonsville-Mill Creek Volunteer Fire Department was responding to the first two accidents. The fire truck lost control, rolled over, and ended up in a ditch.

The first accident involved a 2004 Chevy Cavalier driven by Amanda Channell, 34. Brady said Channell was driving north on Route 219 from Snowshoe Resort to Valley Head, when she tried avoid another vehicle crossing into her lane.

Channell's vehicle lost control and hit a telephone pole. While emergency crews were on scene, a motorcycle traveling on Route 219 noticed the accident and hit his brakes, but the bike slid and flipped over. The motorcycle's driver was identified as Howard Mager, 57, of New Jersey.

Both Channell and Mager were transported to Davis Memorial Hospital by Randolph County EMS. A passenger in Channell's vehicle was flown by helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Tacy was injured, but is doing ok, said Huttonsville-Mill Creek Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief Rodney McAtee.

There's word on the extent of the damage to the fire truck.
