West Virginia State Parks Offer Veterans Appreciation Rate in November

Posted: Updated:

West Virginia's state parks are offering their thanks to veterans next month.

Parks will offer half-price rooms and cabins to all active-duty and retired military and reservists from November 1 through 15.

Military members can call any of 18 locations across the state to make reservations, just ask for the Veterans Appreciation rate.

Staff at Stonewall Resort in Lewis County said it's the least they can do to give back.

"I don't think we can say 'thank you' enough. This is just one small way we have this year to honor the veterans and we'd love to welcome as many as we can," said Steve Ludwig, of Stonewall Resort.

Stonewall will also offer veterans a discount on rounds of golf and purchases in the pro shop on November 11.

Participating areas are: Beech Fork, Blackwater Falls, Bluestone, Cacapon Resort, Canaan Valley Resort, Cass Scenic Railroad, Chief Logan Lodge, Hawks Nest State Park, Holly River, Lost River, North Bend, Pipestem Resort, Stonewall Resort, Twin Falls Resort, Tygart Lake and Watoga state parks, and Kumbrabow and Seneca state forests.
