Students at one area school were helping to raise breast cancer awareness Wednesday.

Philip Barbour High School students wore pink during the school's annual pink out day for Breast Cancer Awareness Day.

Students also heard from a cancer survivor about the importance of curing the disease.

Organizers want students to understand how much people's lives are affected

"People go through that kind of hard times, and it really affects their lives, and for them to just realize how important it is to raise awareness," said Morgan Stemler, PBHS Student Council President.

The school wrapped up the morning's celebrations with a march around the building.
