Man taken to the hospital after causing vehicle accidents in Belle, WV

CHARLESTON, WV -

A man is in the hospital after a series of vehicle accidents in the area of Belle, WV.

According to police, this happened around 1:40 p.m. Saturday, November 2nd.

Police say a male driver sideswiped a tractor trailer on the WV Turnpike about one mile before Chesapeake, then fled the scene.

The male driver hit another vehicle on the Lopez Bridge, and fled the scene of this crash, heading west on Route 60.

Police pulled the driver over in front of the Dupont Plant on Route 60.

Police say the damage to the driver's vehicle was so bad that he had to be cut out of the vehicle by responders.

He was taken to the hospital.

According to police, there was no odor of alcohol on the driver, and the cause of these accidents is believed to be due to a diabetic emergency.

No one was injured in any of these accidents.
