STONEWOOD -

A spaghetti dinner was held on Sunday afternoon to benefit a local woman at the Stonewood Fire Department.

Kim Lewis is battling melanoma cancer and is currently in Texas undergoing treatments.

Friends of Lewis set up a dinner that included spaghetti and meatballs, salad, and dessert.

There were also chance baskets, a raffle for a blanket made by Lewis, and a 50/50 drawing.

Felicia Lanham organized the dinner and said Lewis is a good friend of hers who needs the support.

"I've always been really close to her, we call each other adopted mom and adopted daughter. Her and Sherman both are really good people and the money will go to help their expenses, the gas to get down there, their stay because they have to be at a hotel the whole time, and they have to pay their bills up here as well," explained Lanham.

Lewis will be in Texas for six months receiving treatment for her cancer. Lanham said Lewis had gotten all of the treatment available in the area, so she is getting it in Texas.

Lewis left a note for everyone at the dinner that said she appreciated the support and that it will help tremendously in her fight against the disease.
