A Morgantown man was killed in a car crash in Fayette County, Pa., Monday night, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

According to a release from state police, a vehicle driven by Sheldon Gene Smith, 60, of Morgantown collided with a vehicle driven by Randall John Breaux, 35, of LaFayette, La., shortly after 7 p.m. in Springhill Township.

Breaux was traveling southbound on New Geneva Road about a mile south of Friendship Hill Park when his 2012 Chevy Silverado crossed the center line and struck Smith's GMC Sonoma head-on, according to the release.

Investigators were not able to immediately determine what caused Breaux's vehicle to cross the center line.

The Fayette County Coroner pronounced Smith dead at the scene.

Breaux and a 13-year-old passenger were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.

State police are continuing their investigation Tuesday.
