A volunteer firefighter is charged with obstructing an officer after a crash Sunday morning sent a vehicle into a house.

According to Monongalia County Sheriff Al Kisner, a deputy was called to the scene of a crash around 3 a.m. Sunday on Daybrook Road in the Fairview area. A truck hit another vehicle and pushed it into a house.

When the deputy arrived, the driver of the truck, who was suspected of driving under the influence, was not at the scene.

A resident of the house told the deputy two members of the Blacksville Volunteer Fire Department helped the man from the scene.

Sheriff Kisner said one of the firefighters is the driver's brother.

The other firefighter, Christopher Tennant, was charged with obstructing an officer.

Kisner said the driver of the truck will face charges and investigators are reviewing evidence to determine if the second firefighter will also face charges.

No injuries were reported at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
