A Harrison County advocacy group is taking on homelessness.

The Coalition to End Homelessness held a boot camp at the Bridgeport Conference Center.

Groups from eight cities around the state discussed ways to end homelessness.

They said three of every seven homeless people will need assistance, and it's those people they want to reach the most.

"What we're today talking about is a screening tool that tells you who's in different categories so that we can, with real precision, offer the services people need and help them get out of homelessness," said Linda Kaufman, presenter.

Organizers said homelessness in West Virginia can be especially challenging since it's harder to reach people in need in rural areas.
