An Elkins High School student is raising money to help children with disabilities.

Victoria Kyle is working on a senior project to make upgrades for a special needs classroom at Third Ward Elementary.

Kyle wants to help buy an i-Pad to help children learn shapes and colors and allow them to attend field trips.

Kyle said children should be able to progress no matter what obstacles they face.

"I don't think they should be like mean to other kids who are like that and their kids, and you should treat them like any other kid. I also want to help them progress and possibly even help them work through what ever they have," Kyle said.

Kyle will hold a cake walk fundraiser Sunday, Nov. 10 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Beverly Fire Department.

On Thursday, November 14 at Bob Evans Restaurant from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., 15 percent of your order will go to Victoria for her project. Flyers for the event will be given out at the cakewalk on Nov. 10, as well as at Bob Evans on Nov. 14.
