Area Businesses, Restaurants Offering Discounts for Military Personnel on Veterans Day

In honor of Veterans Day, many area businesses and restaurants will offer discounts or special deals for active duty or retired military personnel on Monday, November 11.

Food Lion stores will offer 10 percent discount to active and retired military personnel. To receive the discount, active military, reservists and veterans should present their MVP card at checkout and request the discount, according to a news release form Food Lion.

Texas Roadhouse restaurants in Clarksburg and Star City are inviting veterans and active members of the U.S. military to enjoy a free lunch on Monday, Nov. 11. Every Texas Roadhouse location will participate in the event to honor the men and women of our armed forces, according to a news release from Texas Roadhouse. All U.S. military personnel can choose one of 10 entrees, plus a choice of any Coca-Cola product, sweet or iced tea, or coffee during lunch. Proof of service includes military or VA card, or discharge papers. This event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Also on Monday, Nov. 11, all veterans and military personnel can receive a free You-Pick-Two at any West Virginia area Panera Bread restaurants by wearing his or her uniform, or by showing a military I.D. or discharge papers, according to a news release Panera.
