Update:

Marion County deputies responded to a shooting Saturday night on Mods Run Road in Rachel. Chief Deputy Ralph Wright said William Bowman, 55, shot his 17-year-old nephew in the back.

The juvenile told police he had went to his mail box at the end of the driveway and heard something in the edge of the woods. When he turned around, he saw Bowman dressed in all camouflage, according to the criminal complaint.

Bowman came out of the woods and pointed a gun at the juvenile. He then yelled and kicked the juvenile, forcing him to walk down the road at gun point away from his residence, the criminal complaint states.

Thinking Bowman would shoot him, the juvenile turned around and grabbed the gun. A struggle ensued and the gun dropped to the ground, according to the criminal complaint.

The juvenile said he was running to a neighbor's house when he was shot in the back, according to the criminal complaint. Once he arrived, he called 911. He was later taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Bowman fled the scene and was arrested in Barbour County on Sunday.

Chief Deputy Wright said Bowman is the same man who blew up the car that severely injured Ron Watkins, former Marion County Sheriff, on April 26, 1989.

Bowman was forbidden to be in the Marion County area due to parole, according to Chief Deputy Wright. He was supposed to stay in the Canaan area.

Deputies are continuing to investigate the incident and are looking for a second person they believe is connected with the shooting.

Deputies said this man is in his mid 50's and about five feet eight inches tall. He would have been wearing a black zip-up, black pants, and brown boots on Saturday night. He was last scene between 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. near Thompson's Tractor Supply in Worthington.
