ALDERSON BROADDUS LADY BATTLERS

2012-13 Record: 8-20

The Alderson Broaddus women's basketball team have made plenty of changes to the roster this year. The Lady Battlers welcome in six freshman to rebuild the program.

Lady Battlers Head Coach Josh Allen oversaw a team that started slow last year, but found its groove late in the season.

ABU advanced to the second round of the WVIAC Tournament, falling to Seton Hill to end the season.

Things will be much different this year as the entire Battler athletic department transitions to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

Players and coaches said this year should be a good one.

"We changed our style of play last year. So we had to kind of look for different types of players. We think we did a really good job with that. We surrounded ourself with a lot of shooters. It's a more athletic team. So we're excited to see. It's the second year we ran this new offense. So it'll be fun to see what the new group and how they respond to it," Alderson Broaddus Women's Basketball Head Coach Josh Allen said.

"We have a lot of incoming people, such as freshmen and then also transfers that can really help and be good assets to the team. So I feel like this season will be a lot better than the last," Battlers freshman guard Haley Robb said.
