D-II College Basketball Preview: West Virginia Wesleyan Women

2012-13 Record: 9-18

West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Basketball Head Coach Jackie DeVane is looking to rebuild with the Lady Bobcats in her third year with the program.

Wesleyan welcomes in seven freshmen and bring back five sophomores to contribute to the rebuilding efforts. The Lady Bobcats finished 9-18 in DeVane's second year, after winning the WVIAC Tournament Championship during her first season with the program.

The Lady Bobcats are considered young. There's only one returning starter on the squad.

Allyson Freiermuth is a player Coach DeVane said can play every spot on the floor, and expects to be a clear-cut leader on the team.

Wesleyan was picked to finish in 8th in the new Mountain East Conference.

The Lady Bobcats will begin the season on Saturday, November 16 at home against Livingstone.

"What I've seen right now is everyone coming in and working hard. We still have a lot of things to work on and a lot of things to learn. We haven't put a lot of things in because we're so young. It takes some time to get - we put in a play and we have to work that play for a while until they can pick it up. But that's understandable because we're so young," Wesleyan Women's Basketball Head Coach Jackie DeVane said.
