Liberty High School in Harrison County First in WV to Present 'Shrek the Musical'

A Harrison County High School is the first in the state to perform a popular Broadway show.

Liberty High School is presenting "Shrek the Musical" Nov. 15 through Nov. 17.

The cast and crew performed in front of some local school children Thursday.

Senior Sarah Smith said the production features student actors representing all age groups from all over the county.

"With theater in general you get to out have a great experience of playing a character and it helps you figure out who you are as well because you get to take a step back from yourself and the younger the kids are the better then the more that they get involved whether it be theater or just heavily involved in the arts it's a great experience. The younger they are the stronger they get," Smith said.

"Shrek the Musical" will open Friday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m.

There will also be a performance Saturday, Nov. 16, also starting at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 17 starting at 2 p.m.
