2012-13 Record: 13-16
The Pioneers are off to a fast start through their first two games of the season, holding a 2-0 overall record.
Glenville State was selected to finish eighth in the Mountain East Conference preseason poll.
Head Coach Stephen Dye is excited heading into the year and he has good reason to be optimistic. The Pioneers return nine players and Dye is thrilled about several new players, such as Dante Morales, who scored 40 points in Tuesday's victory over Ohio Valley.
"Our incomers are going to be key for us," said Dye. "Dante Morales, our UNC-Wilmington transfer, was captain his sophomore season. That shows you right there, if you're a sophomore captain at a Division-I program, then you know how to play and we're going to expect big things out of him if he can stay healthy."
"Our new guys, they're all winners," said senior guard Kevin Gray. "I know with Glenville; we haven't won in the past. But we're going to change that with the guys we have."
