The Doddridge County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene of a tractor trailer over an embankment on Route 50 just after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The sheriff's department said the truck was traveling on Route 50 east near the 63.5 milemarker when it hit a patch of ice. The driver wasn't injured.
Fire departments from Salem, Smithburg, and West Union also responded to the scene, as well as state police.
Traffic on Route 50 was down to one lane, as crews cleared the truck from the scene, but it has since reopened.
