GRAFTON -

First there was Black Friday, then came Cyber Monday.

It wasn't until November of 2010 that the first ever Small Business Saturday came along.

Despite its short existence, it has gotten a lot of hype over the years.

It aims to celebrate the Shop Small movement to drive shoppers to local merchants across the United States.

Grafton business owner, Tom Hart, has participated in Small Business Friday since the beginning.

He said he is prepared for the big day and its completely different then Black Friday.

"We know our customers and we make it a point to get to know our customers. It's really fun. We made a lot of friends. The people we go to church with, that you see in the restaurants, ball games and so forth. It's really great," said Tom Hart, Arts & Treasures Owner.

Arts & Treasures is one of thousands of businesses across the U.S. participate in the event.
