The American Federation of Teachers will sit down with legislators Wednesday night.

The event will begin with a meet and greet at 5:30 p.m. followed by an open discussion.

It's at the UMWA office on Gaston Avenue in Fairmont.

Senate and House members from North Central West Virginia will be there, along with teachers and members of public.

They'll talk about education, and of course teacher's pay and Retirement benefits.

Anyone is welcome to attend and discuss education and the laws affecting it.

"Really what we're looking at is a way not just to tell them what we want but we also want to offer them some solutions. We feel because we are in the business of education that we probably have some very good suggestions of ways that we can eliminate some of the problems," Sam Burnett, of Monongalia County Schools.
