Hollywood casino given tourism award

Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races was awarded the 2013 Stars of Industry Award by the West Virginia Division of Tourism for Best Overall Advertising Campaign for its "Price is Right!" live stage show campaign.

The casino began advertising the "Price is Right!" live stage show to its Marquee Rewards card members at the end of May, 2013. The full campaign launched in June with newspaper, photography, radio, television and web content.

According to the Division of Tourism, the Best Overall Advertising Campaign represents the best magazine, newspaper, photography, radio, television and web content that uses the most imaginative and innovative advertising to promote the tourism industry.

"We're honored to be selected as the Best Overall Advertising Campaign in 2013," said Chris Parker, director of marketing at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town. "Our ‘Price is Right!' live stage show campaign was very creative and also effective, incorporating the fun traditions of the popular game show while drawing thousands of participants for the five shows.

The campaign was conceived and developed in collaboration with the Chicago advertising agency RPM. 

The "Price is Right!" live stage show is a nationwide touring version of the television game show with chosen contestants being offered the chance to win merchandise, trips and a new car.
