University's Mariah Callen Chooses Wheeling Jesuit to Continue Hoops Career
Mariah Callen has been as good as it gets in West Virginia Girls High School Basketball over the last few years.
On Monday, she decided to take her talents to the next level.
Callen signed her National Letter of Intent early Monday afternoon to attend Wheeling Jesuit University. The University star point guard said she chose the Cardinals over Glenville State.
Callen is regarded as one of the top girls basketball prospects in the state this year. She's also the leading scorer for a University Hawks team that currently ranks 5th in Class AAA.
She said everything about Wheeling Jesuit seemed to fit just right.
"Everything about it. It was just a really good fit," Callen said. "The distance, the people there, the system that they play, and just the school in general. Everything about it was just a really good fit for me. She didn't really say. She just said time will tell and it depends on how hard I work and what I earn. So we'll see."
